How to Make Passion Fruit Bubble Tea

Step 1

Start by adding at least 10 cups of water in a non-stick pot and cook the tapioca pearls using the package’s directions. After your tapioca pearls or boba pearls are the right texture, stop the cooking process.

Drain the water and transfer the tapioca pearls (aka boba) into a bowl or colander

If you want to make the tapioca pearls from scratch, follow this simple guide on how to make tapioca pearls. Hurry back when you’re done. We’ll be waiting for you!

Step 2

In the meantime, boil 1 cup of water and sugar in a saucepan. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely, you’ll end up with brown sugar syrup. Pour half of the sugar syrup on the freshly cooked boba. Preferably, the pearls should be immersed in the sugar syrup.

You want the pearls to be sweet and preservable. It’s more enjoyable that way!

Put it in the refrigerator and let it cool down. The best time to enjoy the tapioca pearls is within a few hours after it’s cooked. However, you can keep it in the syrup for a day or two.

If it becomes hard, you can microwave the tapioca pearls in the syrup until it gets soft; a minute will do.

Step 3

Put the black tea into 4 cups of hot water for 10 minutes. But that depends on how strong you want the tea to be. You can adjust it to your preference. Take out the tea bags and let it cool.

You can add ice cubes (preferably two) to quicken the cooling process. Keep in mind this can dilute your tea.

Step 4

Before you serve the drink, add the passion fruit concentrate and ½ cup of sugar syrup to the tea. You can adjust the syrup to your taste.

Add the tapioca pearls into a cup. Fill ¾ of the cup with the team mixture. After, add the almond milk to finish it off. There you have it. Passion fruit bubble teal is ready to be served.

You can adjust the ingredients to your taste and tell us how that went!
